I don't think I can make it OOPS on demand but I have been able to get it to spit out some kernel barf text in /var/log/messages.  Didn't crash the system though.  That was on a 2.6.35.6-based kernel... which supposedly has had a few BTRFS regressions that they probably already have fixed for the upcoming 2.6.36 kernel and the next update to 2.6.35.
