Turns out the person lives 3 miles north of Belgrade and neither DSL nor Bresnan cable Internet are available to them. They have been using some satellite service that they have grown unhappy with... and was asking what if any broadband wireless services might be available. They called the various cell phone company but found out they were all clueless about Linux compatibility.

I was talking with a guy in Lewistown yesterday about what they use out
in the boonies. He mentioned his neighbors using WildBlue. I just
looked it up and perhaps they are using them as they are a satellite
provider. http://www.3rivers.net/InternetProducts.php#wildblue

Being a satellite provider, I wouldn't think a lack of dial up service
to Belgrade would exclude this service.

Not much help I know for the Linux quest
