[BozemanLUG] KDE - leaving me a bit surprised

So I have a little HP EliteBook 2530p that I have been playing with. It's
got one of those little micro 120 GB hard drives, 4 GB of RAM, and a little
1.86 GHz centrino dual core 2 processor. I decided to mess around with
openSUSE tumbleweed release and see how it did. I initially wanted to try
the Pantheon desktop but was unable to get it working. So I went with MATE
figuring it would be relatively lightweight. I was a bit surprised to find
MATE not as fluid as I had assumed it would be. I then decided to install
KDE just to see what it looked like and how it performed on this little
laptop. This is where I became the most surprised though. Although it takes
a little bit to load the desktop, once it is loaded it feels pretty fluid.
I honestly thought KDE had a heavy "eye candy" look to it and so I was
expecting a pretty sluggish experience. But what little bit I have been
playing with it I have to say I am pleasantly surprised.

Scott, I don't know if that means I will start using KDE again, but I will
give your favorite desktop a few props. :)
